UNICRI, through its Centre on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and INTERPOL's Innovation Centre in Singapore have released a new joint report "Towards Responsible AI Innovation" as part of their ongoing cooperation exploring the opportunities and potential pitfalls of artificial intelligence (AI) for law enforcement.

Even though albinism is a natural inherited condition, persons with albinism are subject to discrimination, exclusion, verbal and physical violent attacks, which can amount to body part and organ removal, organ trafficking and murder.

Illicit pesticides represent a lucrative activity for organized crime and a concrete threat to security, development, health and the environment, and consequently require urgent response from the national and regional authorities, as well as the international community and the United Nations. To address this growing threat, UNICRI has developed a programme aimed at enhancing an international strategy to counter serious and organized crime involved crimes having an adverse impact on the environment, including in the trafficking of illicit pesticides.
The Policy Toolkit developed by UNICRI was launched by the Netherlands at the Fifteenth Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) Coordinating Committee in Malaga on 13-14 March 2019.
The Toolkit was recently presented during the Joint special meeting on the nexus between international terrorism and organized crime held on 26 April 2019 by the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC), the ISIL (Da’esh)/Al-Qaida Committee, and the Taliban Committee.

The report summarizes key findings, challenges and recommendations presented and discussed during the first INTERPOL - UNICRI Global Meeting on the Opportunities and Risks of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Law Enforcement held in Singapore on 11-12 July 2018.
